Golden rules for taking the plunge with this Season’s Christmas Party dress trend

November 7, 2012

The road to the party season is officially open and every Lady is now starting to think about what to wear  to the Christmas Party and wondering where to even start looking for that perfect outfit. Winter 2012 is all about taking the plunge and daring that neckline.

Celebs like Kate Hudson, Heidi Klum, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston have all been turning heads and flaunting their assets in beautiful gowns baring the brave cold front. Our favourite of them all has to be Jennifer Anniston’s dress at the LACMA 2012 where she was nothing short of fabulous!

So, what are the golden rules for taking the plunge but remaining stylish?

1. – Choose the right dress – Go for structured, stretchy fabric that will contour your body and cling to all the right places. We are loving this Black Plunge dress from Gorgeous Couture.

2.- Posture – Make sure to stand up straight with your head in the right position. When your shoulders are hunched, your boobs, tummy and everything else will drop as well. Standing in the right position with your shoulders back gives you perkier bust line and a smaller waist as well – it’s also a great confidence booster!

3.-To Bra or not to bra? – With this season’s trend, some might prefer a natural look while others might want a bit more lift. The choice is all yours!

To replicate a natural look, start with a pair of nipple concealers where a Bra simply won’t do! Why not try Petal Elegance Disposable Nipple covers which are made of satin material and are sure to help you avoid any embarrassing moments.

4. – Polish the look – Reveal yet remain elegant is of essence. Use fashion tape to tuck those beauties in to remain modest. Last thing you want is to be popping out every time you bend forward a bit…especially on the dance floor!  Our solution to this is Lights! Camera! Fashion! Fashion Tape Fix-it Strips that come in a convenient small tin that contains 50 x 3”x ½” of tape strips that will help you achieve a great look without jeopardising your style.

5.- Finally, some finishing touches and you’re ready to go! – As you are showing your décolletage, make sure that your skin looks as good as your face. Your foundation should match the skin tone on your neck and chest, for extra coverage, simply work some concealer or your left over foundation.

To make your bust more voluminous, use a Matte bronzer strategically instead of applying it all over. Sweep some in an “M” shape across your bustline, then apply a highlighting powder to the exposed part of the breast as lighting and shading are key for this look.
